On the DK, if you press and hold the SPKR button while still on the handset, the handset will mute.

I know this is an older post, but this is my exact issue.

I have a ctx with the latest processor (i.e CIX), and I want to know if I can mute my DKT3000 handsets. I believe the 5000 series has the mute working on both the spkr and the handset (perhaps that's just the IP phones). But, can I mute my 3000 dkts?

The 5000 series IPT's mute the handset when you press the mic key. Very nice feature, wish that worked on the other phones.

That mute feature only works on software level that supports the DP 5000 series phones, so if you plug one of these into a CIX with sw 3.10 it won't work.

I would tell people to get a headset with a mute if really need it.

As I said, I have the latest processor.

In my tests with the mute mic button you can program onto a flex button - it doesn't do anything. It doesn't mute the handeset, and it doesn't mute the speakerphone. It does turn red when I press it though, and it can be turned on and off when I'm not using the phone. What does that button do?

I do however have some old bdku cards (digital phone cards) (I have several cards, some are pdkus). I'm not sure which card the phone I tested with was on - does it matter?
