Hello,

We currently have a Toshiba DK-424 phone system and want to do the following.

We have multiple 800 numbers and want to be able to see which line is called via the LCD display.

Example:

1) 800-555-1212 = Acme Customer Finance
2) 800-555-1214 = McDonalds Customer Finance.

We want our sales reps to be able to see which brand is calling via caller ID on the LCD phone display.

Is this old system capable of doing this?

If the numbers are coming in on a T-1 or PRI, you can assign a name to the DNIS digits received by the switch.

If the 800 numbers are pointed to two different copper trunks, you can assign a name to each trunk. If they are pointed to the same trunk, you have a problem.

Either way, you don't need caller ID to do this, because it sounds like you are only concerned which line is ringing, not who is calling.
