On most voicemail systems I work with where the customer complaines about delayed messages, it turns out to be MWI problem. Is this true with the Stratagy DK 4 port card? Has anyone had problem with messages being sent 3 or 4 days late?

First thing to check is the number of messages in the mailboxes. If there are alot of stored msgs, the system sill be VERY slow. ------------------ Toshiba Technical Support at: fingerlakestelecom.net

Voyager- what would you define as a lot of stored messages? specifically on an iES32, 256MB RAM, 7.5GB harddrive? we've had some slow delivery, slow response issues lately, and I am curious if this is the same sort of deal.
thanks

I do not know this system, but I would look at running a defrag on the system. I have seen this to cause slow responces and delayed messaging on other voicemails. DOS and Windows based OS.

hi i cannot emphasis enough that you should never run a defrag op on a dos based voicemail. if anything that is what causes delayed messages, but it isnt the only thing. delete dead messages will help speed up the latency time between login and the voicemail offering the box options.vmbedit, ckdb, and scandisk will almost 99% of the time solve s/w troubles on a dos machine thanks z

Can you defrag an iES32 system on the NT 4.0 platform? It doesn't have a defrag tool loaded. Thanks! I am just trying to figure out why the system is running slow when users go into their mailbox, takes a long time just to hear, " you have 1 new message..." and also after you press "1" to listen to your message there is a long delay before it plays. Any ideas?

Are you using SMDI Integration? You should be. That greatly speeds things up.

Zstephens, On your comment of using defrag on a dos based voicemail system. It may not be totally true with all dos based systems. ABS Talkx has in it's cleanup procedure every night to restart and run scandisk and defrag. ABS also designed the Executone VX line of voicemail and the more current Tadiran ICMC although it's windows based.
