I just replaced an OLD TIE 16/48 in a non-profit with a DK280 Release 2. I had this thing on the bench and it worked great with a DKT and an EKT phone plugged in, and I even had the Attendant phone with a DSS working. So... I installs it, change the Extension numbers to match the old numbers VIA program 04, and now after thinking I'm good....DIAL 0 is vacant! I matched their numbers 200 became 301, ETC... What gives here, it worked on the bench! I also mated this 280 with an old Amanda, WorkGroup.DOS, those were the days, huh?
Yeah, I'm not new at this, so lets hear it!
Thanks, Great site...

Did you assign a port as extension 0 in program 04? And that the phone is plugged in?

Ports start at 000 in program 04,(the hardware port number) and go up, the attendant phone needs to be 301 (the dial zero phone), I was wondering if the phone on port zero (000, no matter what I numbered it) would respond to zero. If not how do I get the dial zero to be 301? This is a release 2 (RCTUB2, processor) no Phantoms..
Thanks for your response!

You have to assign 0 as an actual extension number. So, you can't have 301 and 0 on the same PDN. I'm not sure if you can have PhDN on your release, but if you do, try using it.

Station 200 responded to '0' before I changed port 000 to ext 301. Or am I mistaken? I was positive that ext 200 rang when I pressed ICM 0. Every other system I've worked on uses the first extension for the dial zero extension in addition to having a standard number ie 101, or 10 or whatever.
Its funny that the programming manual says extension 200 can respond to 200 and 0 with no problem, but I can't see where to assign ZERO. Program 04 changed the extension number to duplicate the old TIE. And everything answers except ZERO. This (and program loss) is the reason I use default numbers if I can...PAIN...OH the PAIN.... If I assign port 000 as ext 0, would it ADD zero to the mix or change it to only zero and I would lose 301 as the attendant? I would rather she keep the 301 then. This is a Christian school and it just got hectic last week. I think I'll keep my mouth shut unless they ask, I'll tell them, there isn't a ZERO. What you talking about?
Thanks for your help!!!

If you have any analog ports change an unused one to (0) zero in Pgm 04, Call forward ALL(#601?) to 301 (000) and label it. Then if I remember correctly you can remove the analog card all together and it will keep. It's been awhile .....

From the manual. If desired a telephone accompanying a dss console can have a station number of 0 without conflict. Attendant consoles will ring on the ICI "0" button for dial 0 calls and on the intercom key when the intercom number assigned to the console [station] port in program 04 is dialed. I have not tried this but it may or may not pertain to your situation. JBW
