I'm a recently retired, 32yr Bell tech (Qwest). I've worked on old 1A2 Keysys, know enough about Meridian & Norstar to be dangerous, but have no experience with Toshiba systems. A friend has a small business with a Strata DK40i KSU (1 main, 1 expansion cab), and Contact DK VoiceMail card/system. They have 20 or so DKT2020-SD or DKT2010-S phone sets. The receptionist desk has a DKT2020-SD with two DADM2020 add-on modules.
My friend isn't happy with his existing Toshiba service dealer, and asked me if I could help him add one new phone. I found an existing/active jack where he wants it, and we've added the phone and set up the voice mailbox.
My problem: The limited service manuals he has on site are almost totally for the Contact DK Voicemail system. How do I program one of the receptionist DADM2020 buttons for this new extension phone?
Dan - former E911, DS0, DS1 tech in Phx area.

You need program *29 that is addon module button assignments
the string would be removed you can program from any display
ports are 000- ascending extensions probably 10- ascending so 000 probably is 10

1st - Thanks for your help! I'm working on getting an I&M manual for this system.
2nd - I need just a little clarification. The receptionist phone, which has two DADM2020 add-on modules, is Intercom ext 10. The new added phone is Intercom ext 32. We want to program button #04 on the receptionist's second add-on module for the new ext 32 phone.
If I understand correctly, ext. 10 = port 000. Ext 32 = port 022. Right?
BTW - this forum is slicker than greased lightning! Thanks for the help!
Dan, Phx.

</font> Maybe not. Where is the Contact Voicemail? Exp Cab slot? And by default once 1 key on a DADM is programmed all ports are in order i.e. lower left button on DADM #1 is port 000 so upper right is port 019. ------------------ ssimpson@oneringtelecom.com Need a Telrad Programmer Kit? I believe the Contact VM card is in the main cabinet, not the expansion cab. I'll have to check which PCB slot it's in.
I'll also verify the port # on x32 set. I'm headed to the site within the hour. Thanks again for needed help.

Well... I must have missed something. I went to the receptionest phone (x10) and keyed in the sequence as listed, but nothing happened and the Add-on mod #2, button #4 doesn't work. I did this procedure with the receiver on-hook and no lines/buttons selected first. I did verify that x32 is phys and logical port 022.
Here's added info: The system is a Strata DK424, main KSU is a model DKSUB424A, expansion cab is model DKSUE280A. Contact VM card is in the main cab in PCB slot S14.
DADM2020 add-on mod #1 has buttons 1-20 programmed for sequential ext's 11-30. Add-on module #2 has buttons 1-3 programmed for ext's 33, 34, and 35. No other buttons on Add-on mod #2 are programmed. I noted that one reply stated something about buttons being sequential once the first button on the add-on mod is programmed. Is this what is keeping me from programming add-on mod #2 button #4 for ext 32?
Any added suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Programming on a DK424 is done at port 005, not port 000. Be carefull, a 424 is a big switch and can be tricky. Stephanie

Bass, The 424 is much trickier that the 40. I would suggest paying one of the Toshiba moderators for a few minutes of over the phone tech support. They should be able to talk you through it pretty easily. ------------------ Business Telephone Repair

Also, programming is done from a 20 button phone, the buttons on the DADM are never used to program with. When you use prog. *29 and select which DADM, the buttons on the phone itself show how the DADM buttons are programmed.

What I would suggest: 1. Find extension 205. 2. At 205, press Intercom, dial # 4 0 2 3. The display should say that the physical and logical port is 005. If it is not, you have to find the sixth port (pair 11) of the first PDKU block and hook a 20 button display phone up to it. 4. Use the PDF that SS sent you Press the fourth button up on the left on the second console and it will dial the phone you think is 32.

Thanks everyone, and sorry for the initial misinformation on the systemn type. I refered to an onsite technical notice from Toshiba (about upgrading the chip in a DK40i) and assumed THAT was the system on site. (Wasn't on site for first postings).
I'm getting some live help via phone for this issue.

Just wanted to say thanks to SSPhone (Steve) for some excellent phone help. Steve walked me through several programs and gave me an excellent start to learning this system! Problems were solved and he helped me add a Night Button feature that didn't exist before. Thanks Steve!

Hello I am new at an office and I just had a phone jack fixed, I hooked up our DKT2010-SD toshiba. The phone will not ring to incoming calls, and i cannot find the manual, It works fine, I just cant figure it out to make it ring at that jack. It will ring at other jacks, and we tried other phones, the phone is fine, Do i need to program it to this line?

At that phone, press Intercom, #, 4 0 2.
It will tell you the logical and physical ports and the number will start with a zero.
You have to go into programming at port 005 which usually is extension 205 and program that 2010SD port number to ring.
We can't post password programming on here, so once you find that 2010SD port number maybe someone will help you out.
