good day.

we just had a cix 100/es16 installed, and i have been tasked to do a couple of tweaks. i have emanager up and running and have taught myself a little of the basics over the last 2 days (creating new phDNs, assigning buttons to phones, creating vm boxes, etc). basic stuff.

i have 2 issues that i think are related, but i'm not sure how to correct the problem. our installer removed the day2 codes from the system call forward tables so that the night transfer was on/off only; no more ring out to all stations for mode 2. i'm trying to get that back, but am sort of lost as i can't figure out how to create a (n)DN that will ring to every phone. right now, when callers dial 0 for help, no one can pick up the line if the receptionist is away from her desk.

the 2nd issue is that when the receptionist is away and someone rings to the operator, no one else can "grab" the line. i've programmed a one-touch key to #5#5 the call, but you have to know what extension its ringing at (it actually works fine for grabbing the receptionist line since everyone knows its 100), but i was wondering if there was a more elegant solution, like possibly causing the 0/100 to light a free one-touch key that can be picked up. i don't see why you can't, but the docs are a little hazy on the step-by-step how-tos. the relation between the 2 is... possibly correcting the 1st will make the 2nd moot?

thank you for any advice/help!! i've learned more reading this board this afternoon than a couple days digging through the programming docs.

Do you mean to say that if the receptionist phone is ringing in night mode that no one can press intercom and dial #5#5100 to pick the ringing call?

You could program that as a button on the phone, I have.

Deleting the Day 2 would have nothing to do with that.

I have not tried to put a zero phantom on another keyset but I would think you could do that.

hi,

our installer had tied in some sort of custom paging to the ring mode on day2 in the system call fwd tables so it would ring out to all phones. that's what i'm trying to replace.

for now, i have a one-touch/speed dial programmed into all of the other stations that does #5#5100. it would be neat if it blinked though when the operator line is ringing. actually now that i think about it... if it blinked it would actually even work better than the whole ring mode solution.

forgive my newb-ness, but what is a "zero phantom"? i couldn't find a reference to it in the manuals.

oooh, i think i'm starting to get this. i put a secondary/phantom DN (100) onto my phone with it set to "no ring". so it blinks and i can pick it up.

perfect.

except: when night transfer is off, i get *all* incoming calls blinking at me. i tried to add the phDN to 0, but it told me that that was outside the allowed range of numbers.

annoying, but essentially minor. thanks for pushing me in the right direction!!
