We recently purchased a Strata CIX/CTX and Stratagy ES system for our school. We managed them with eManager and the ES software via an IP connection on campus which works nicely. Because we are behind some type of firewall, our IT person is asking me for the "port numbers" that the voicemail and phone system use so that she can map an external IP address to the internal one so I can use the software off campus as well as on. It currently does not work off campus. Any help is appreciated. thanks!

i'm in the same boat: our installer said "it uses a whole bunch of ports and it's just easier to give it an external address". unfortunately something we have none of left.

phonemeister, could i get a peek at that port list? appreciate it!

You might have more luck using a VPN to get to the internal Addr... Not sure, but I've seen it work well with Inter-Tel DB Admin software.

I took the port list from phonemeister and had our IT person add it to the firewall list. I also used some software to ping the open ports on the system and came back with about 6 and had her enter those as well, but still was not successful in getting either the voicemail software or eManager to work offcampus. Still working on it, though.
