i assume you mean the lcd on the phones, right?

in eManager, it's under Advanced Config > Station > Assignment : 09 Name to Display

Is there keystroke commands I can do from a console? I hate to go over to the main building, hahaha

Depending on your software, that feature may be available to you. But that feature must be assigned to a DKT, and by default, it is not enabled on any DKT. So, check with your installer to see if you have that feature and that it was enabled on a DKT.

We did a two cabinet 670 with the latest software about two months ago and we had to "enable" a phone or two to be the "naming" phones.

However, with the instructions faxed from Toshiba it still did not want to work and I just modem into it and do it. Two of us techs and the receptionist tried the instructions they faxed and it was nothing but frustration, we couldn't all be too stupid to follow the directions and it was the latest CIX software. Some things are just best done remotely.

you just go to the DKT that has administrator phone enabled on it. then use the softkeys. when you see ADMIN hit that softkey then enter the default passcode "0000" I think.
Once you get in you can program doorbox names, speed dial names and set names and DNIS names and so on.....
The feature works great and is very easy to use.

But admin is disabled in programming in all phones by default, and I haven't seen many that are enabled unless customer requests it.

Press the MODE button. If "ADMIN" shows up, then you can change names from that phone. Otherwise it is disabled, and/or your software is too old (need 2.20+ I think).

If you know how to get into telephone programming, in program 200, DN #, enable FB34 (can only do it from 20 button display phone).
