I have a Stratagy that was recently reinstalled due to a pc problem. After setting the system up again, there is a problem with the voice mail not recognizing stations that dial in to the vm extensions; when a station dials 244 to reach the voice mail, Stratagy answers with the main greeting instead of the mailbox password prompt. I do not know where thwhat setting to change for this feature to work. Thaks for any help that comes my way!

Is this for a DK or CTX/CIX? If it's a DK, my guess is it's a problem with the SMDI integration. Did you set the Stratagy up as SMDI? Did you plug the PPTC9 into the correct serial port on the Stratagy? If it's a CTX/CIX, what model of Stratagy?

This is a DK 424, and we are not using SMDI. All progress codes, etc. are DTMF. SMDI was turned off because of problems with the PC.

On a DK, direct calls to voicemail from a station will always go to the main greeting unless you use SMDI.

Steve..
You will ned to use DTMF integration to get calls to the right mailbox etc. With DTMF integration, you will need to program ID codes on all the phones in order to get callers to the right mailbox and to also get to the security code prompt when the flashing msg light is pressed. The ID codes are as follows (you can find these in the user manuals for the Stratagy DK):
VM ID code (direct callers to the right mailbox):
* Press the intercom button * Press the # button followed by 656 * Press 91 * Enter the mailbox number * Press Redial button * Press the SPKR button
Message ID code (to get to security code prompt when flashing MSG light pressed):
* Press the intercom button * Press the # button then 657 * Press 92 * Enter the mailbox number * Press the redial button * Press the SPKR button
BOTH CODES ARE SET WITH THE HANDSET ON HOOK!!!
In rare cases, you may need to re-do these codes if it doesn't take the first time. One thing to watch out for, if someone gets astatic shock from the phone, it may wipe out the ID codes and they will need to be reset.
IMPORTANT: If you switch from DTMF to SMDI integration, the ID codes will need to be removed or the SMDI integration won't work right. To cancel:
VM ID code:
* Press the intercom button * Press the # button followed by 656 * Press the redial button * Press the SPKR button
Message Light ID code:
* Press the intercom button * Press the # button then 657 * Press the redial button * Press the SPKR button
The other thing to make sure of is when you re-programmed the VM did you do the plug and play as SMDI or not? If you look at the main screen it will say DK424 or DK424SMDI right around the top left-hand side. If it says DK424SMDI, you will need to re-do plug and play for just a DK424. When you do this plug and play it sets the notification table which is different for SMDI then DTMF. I apologize for saying this if you already know!!
If you have any questions feel free to send me a PM or e-mail!!

Why is everyone calling me Steve?
Calls do forward to the mailbox correctly, but if I dial the voice mail directly without using the flashing message button, I only reach the main greeting.
The phonemeister answered my question, and I'll see if we can repair the problem so that SMDI will work properly again.
Thanks to all!

Well Amy if you just dial the voicemail hunt group or a vm extension it doesn't know who you are, as it does when you press the MW button and your extension programmed in 657 tells it which mailbox to open.
At this point, the voice mail is working properly.
Never having done SMDI, there may be tricks that will be what you want.
