I have a ctx 670 with a ies 32 that crashed so i replaced it with a new ies 32 and after 2 or 3 days it seem to be experiencing the same problem. Problem seems to be when employees try to log in to there box they get cut off, the prompts seem to stutter, it just rings or it rings busy. If any one has any suggestions I would appreciate it thanks.

Not having seen this before, my best guess, and it is a guess to check out, it could be a bad power supply in the cabinet. More probably on the 5 volts. Have you checked the voltage or do you have a spare p/s you could swap out? The voicemail is essentially a small computer and the 5 volts would be running the chips. The CTX cpu could be more fault tolerant to voltage than the voicemail.
Did you punch the power supply reset buttons just to be sure they are not making a flaky contact? It it the only direction I can think to send you and it doesn't really address why it would work for a couple days and start being flaky.
You might also reseat the board several time to make sure you have a good contact and while it is out put a high power flashlight in the slot to see if anything looks black (oxidized) or funky in some way.

the problem is the hard drive on the vm. the early ies32 hd failed after about 1-2 years. the second unit sounds like it was a used market unit. if you unplug it and let it sit about a week it some times would run again but not long , as you know. the only fix is to send to toshiba. the new stly 1es32 does not have this problem.

Make sure the CTX CPU and the iES32 CPU are seated fully to the backplane. other than that, check the errors in the windows NT, it will tell you the problem. But I do confir with the bad hard drives, I have one customer on his 3rd vmail, the vmails were less than a year old when the drives failed each time. If you get a replacement the hard drive issue is fixed now though. It is a very good product, dispite the bad hard drives.
