Hello, I just got a new CIX670 system installed with an LIPU card. The LIPU card has a public IP. I had IPTs with public and private (behind NAT) IP's working up until yesterday.
Nothing has changed but all of my IPTs, both soft and hard, with private IPs no longer work. The hard phone just display "Registering IPT...", while the softIPT shows "Searching IPU... IPU: x.x.x.x"
I can ping the LIPU's IP with no problem. The sets with external IP's are still working without problem.
Does anyone have any ideas? Do I need to open up more ports on my firewall? If so which ones?
Btw, the reason I have a mix of public and private IP's on my IPTs is because it seems like the LIPU can only handle upto two IPT's from behind a single NAT. Is this assumption correct? The inital plan was to have all the IPT's on the private network. They all registered fine, but there was no voice on all but two at a time.
Thanks, Simon

I had the same problem and it turned out to be the router. I would reset the router and the IPTs would work for awhile and then stop. I changed out the router to a different make and model and it worked fine. If you have a router, reset it and see if it starts to work again.

I rebooted the CIX and I was able to reconnect on the softIPT. The hard phones show "Connect ERROR". Under the maintenance menu in eManager the LIPU card shows "Partial Fault CC". The station ports show ' IP Station 336 LIPU-X Disabled by Fault: DO ' where 336 is one of my extension numbers.
I was able to get one of the hard phones working for a short time, by doing an initalize on it. I disconnected it and reconnected to make sure it was a good fix and it wasn't back to the same problem: "Connection ERROR" on the LCD.
I've tried two routers, a CISCO 1800 series and a consumer D-Link.
So in summary: SoftIPT works, IPT2010's don't. Public IPTs still work fine...

I bit the bullet. In the interest of a more stable environment, I got a second LIPU card (a piggyback) so that I could have two IP's assigned on the LIPU. I have a public and a private IP assigned and everything is good. The bonus is that there's less traffic going through my router as well.
A point of note in case anyone else gets into this situation and considers this solution is that the piggyback LIPU card does not have it's own Ethernet jack. It shares the one on the main card. This means that the other end of the cable needs to be plugged into a switch that has access to both the external and internal router interfaces. Otherwise, one of them won't be able to get to their gateway.
The vendor should have quoted it this way! Or, I should have done better research..
