A customer has been using a DK280 for many years and it comprise 3 cabinets with 7 CO, 56 digital ext, and 8 analog ext. for a 8-port external VM attached. All 8 x 8-port ext. card fully used. They need another 5 extensions. We have experience in Panasonic but not Toshiba. I have the programming manuals & can get the 8-port digital extension card. Should I (a) try to do the card install & programming myself & save the cost of hiring a Toshiba tech or (b) get the Toshiba tech to do it. Your advise is very much appreciated. Thanks.

Power the system off, insert the PDKU card in the slot you want to use and power the system on.

Assuming you know how to get into system programming, in program 03 put digits 61 in the appropriate slot. Hint: Cabinet 1 slot 3 is 13, cabinet 2 slot 4 is 24, cabinet 3 slot 2 is 32.
[Spkr] [1 digit cabinet number] [1 digit slot number] # [61] (code for PDKU) [Hold]. easy?

Exit programming and restart the system, power off, wait 5 seconds, power on.

Go into program 39 and put whatever buttons you want on the phone.

Remember that you can only use slots 1-6 in your 280 expansion cabinets. You might want to list your card slot inventory here to make sure you can place the card where you need to, there might be power factor issues we can't see unless we know which cards are in which cabinet and slot. I will make the assumsion you have atleast a C/D processor, seeing how you have three cabinets. Is there an I/O card in your system, do you have caller ID, and are you sure that the customer is using all 56 stations? three important questions you need to answer first. The members here are always glad to assist and advise but we do need all the information possible.
