Oh great Toshiba Masters I dont know if I'm stoopid or what...(please no comments) Hooking a Viking PA2A to ctx 28 page port.. could never get anything from speaker, heck, couldn't even figure out how to access page port. Ended up using LAST line port, works ok but for future would like to use dedicated "page"port.Looked thru FYI and the "new" site for techs w/ similar problem. My problem wouldn't be the: External device-05 for ctx100 or 01 for ctx670????

Best thing I have found is Valcom 1030C Paging horn. Hook tip/ring to paging port and Vfalcom VP-324 24v power supply to the 2nd pair on the horn. Very loud. access with #35

Since you have FYI look in the web knowledge base Document 1146 or do a search for "CTX 100 paging" it's there. Forget the Viking PA2A and get you a Valcom Speaker and Power supply. Gook Luck

Voyager and Breed are 100% on the money on how to do it, however I use a less expensive brand of speaker and they work fine, never had to send one back yet. Website: www.pageindustries.com They have a whole batch of toshiba goodies they make themselves, like a small adapter that turns a digital port into a paging adapter, very nice when compared to buying a paging card for a 280/424, etc.

Bunnie we also use the page industries and have had very good luck with it, their PI-DKT is a life saver for the CTX 670. We have had to send a couple of the speakers back but not a big deal when you compare the cost.

The PI-DKT used to turn a digital port into a paging port was really helpful to a customer who had run out of card slots and had two station ports he didn't need. Voila two paging zones and very, very cheap compared to upgrading to a new cabinet and new software.
They love making gadgets as much as Mike Sandman and as far as the customer is concerned, they want what they want and if Toshiba doesn't make it, they don't care, they still want it and we make a living by finding out how to make it work instead of giving them an excuse.
