i don't have much toshiba experience at all and just trying to help a customer out.
they have a dkt-2010sd and the ringer has become 'beeping' as opposed to 'ringing' and they can't figure out how to change it. i took a quick look at it and couldnt do it myself. i checked the owners manual and couldnt find anything about setting ring tones in there.
any ideas?

Is this an incoming call transferred by voicemail? If so, make the voicemail perform an unsupervised transfer to the extension.

Is the call beeping in their ear while they are on a call?
I've never heard of a Toshie "beeping" over the speaker.

This may sound like a stupid question but are they using a headset while they are on the phone or when the phone is idle ? If it is beeping when the handset is on hook and no headset , swap it with a set that rings and see if that set works ok . Might just me a bad set or even a simple issue .

yeah, i'm not going to have any kind of programming access to this system. if anything i just wanted to give her a call telling her how she might be able to fix it.
there's no headset involved at all.

That happened to us when we changed from voice first on the attendant's console to tone first. When the attendant's console is set to voice first, and all other stations are set to tone first, then the stations "ring" each other, not beep each other. When the attendant's console was switched to tone first from voice first, that's when the rings turned into beeps. Might be the case for you.
