My client has their phone service and voice mail service through Vorizon. To check for new messages, they call the voice mail number, then enter their passcode which is also the client's phone number. When I try to access the voice mail off site, I call the voice mail number, then enter the client's phone number as the passcode. Then the prompt asks me to enter my phone number which I enter the client's phone number. The prompt then tells me that the phone number and pass code don't match. Does anyone know why this is? Vorizon thinks the passcode has changed, but the client insists that it hasn't.

It is possible that Verizon is using the incoming caller id when your client calls as part of the identification processs, and it is not letting you check the vm because you are not calling from their premis. To check that theory, have them see if they can check it via their cell phone or other phone line.

Just curious, did you ever determine the problem?

Yes - It's a little embarrasing - Their username was their their entire phone number including area code, but their password was their phone number excluding their area code. Guess I was trying to make this much harder than what it was.
