I am an IT guy who has just been charged with programming an IVP8 (Version2) in a DK96 switch. The customer (who thinks they are very savvy) bought the voicemail card on ebay from a seller who left a lot to be desired.

Being an IT person, unfortunately I do not know the default password for the admin mailbox 999. After reading some other threads, I am now aware of the "no password posting" policy. Could someone please email me what the default password is. It would be much appreciated.

My email is [email protected]

Thank you.

Do you know how to do the programming for the DK 96? You will need to program the slot as well as the ports etc.

I sent you an e-mail about the password...

Thanks for the email. Unfortunately the admin mailboxes (999 and 997) do NOT have the default passwords set.

I have also tried the XADMIN software with a null modem cable to no avail. I keep getting the "handshake" message three times and then nothing. I have verified that I am using the correct com port number too.

I used program 03 to set the slot to be type 31, not sure what to do regarding the programming of the ports though. The IVP8 resides in slot 6 after 5 PEKU1s and the voicemail ports are currently 240 to 243.

I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks!

Update.

I changed the baud setting in the admin software to 56kbs and the handshake issue has gone away. Now for the much bigger problem.

The default password for this remote login does not work!

Is there anyway to reset this password back? Or is this IVP8 unrecoverable?

Thanks,

Jamie

Is your PC/laptop set at the same baud rate? Do you get "The Remote Password doens't match..." message?
