I have a customer who wants to have the auto attendant come on automatically and I believe I can do this by using the day/night program; HOWEVER, I have never had to program this feature. They have a set time for M-F then one for Saturday and this where I am getting confused.

Can I set a time for M-F and then one for all Saturdays?

There's actually 3 day types, workday, non-workday, and holiday.

Each day type has a start time for day1, day2, and night mode.

DIT the lines to the receptionist phone in day1 and VM pilot number in night mode, then program day/night to start day1 when the workday starts and to start night when the workday ends.

Example: M-F hours are 8am-5pm, Sat 9am-noon.
workday day1 = 08:00, day2 = 99:99, night = 17:00
non-workday day1 = 09:00, day2 = 99:99, night = 12:00
holiday day1 = 99:99, day2 = 99:99, night = 00:00
Set M-F as workday, Sat. as non-workday, Sun. as holiday.

Clear as mud?

Just one question...what if they change hours for M-F so that two of the days they close at a different time. Can I do that?

In the example I gave, if they decided to close early 1 or 2 days, they would have to manually put it in night mode on those days. Have the system automatically switch to night mode at the later time. As far as I know, that's the only way. Hopefully someone else knows another.

Let's say you have Monday thru Wednesday they are open from 8-5,Thursday and Friday from 7-5, and closed on the weekend. Set Mon-Wed for workday and Thurs and Fri for Non-workday. Leave Sat and Sun at 99:99 for day, day2 and night.

On 6/20/06 junkman suggest 'manually put it in night mode' for early closing times.

How do I go about this with the lease amount of button pressing?

Ideally, I would like a dss key to press that will manually override to night mode.

(CIX100 current configuration: trunk DIT / DayNight Service to night Pilot DN)
