Hi I have a CTX 670 and the Stratagy ES32 voicemail. To check our voicemail when the light is flashing we push the message button. When the light isn't flashing and we push the message button nothing happens. Is there any ways to have the message button work when the light isn't flashing?

This would allow us to check old messages when we don't have new ones. I know we can dial the VM port, but it's not always easy for new people to understand.

As far as I know if the message light isn;t flashing you would need to access VM by dialing the VM pilot number and proceeding from there. You can still check old messages this way.

Yep, the MSG button is not programable(except appearantly on a DKT 3001). It only works to return a call to the extension that turned on the light in the first place, usually the voicemail extensions.

Other extensions can turn on someone elses Message light, and usually happens by accident. I have yet to see anyone use it intentionally.

At our company we set the voicemail extension to 8, so to get to voicemail, you would just press 8. You could program a button to call Voicemail, or just remember the VM extension.

I would find out the "Voice Mail Hunt Group Number" and as newtecky says, it is usually [intercom button] 8 or [intercom button 7] as most installers change the 900/850 to 900/8 or 900/7.

Amy's terminology of VM pilot number will get you there too, it is the same as the VM hunt group.

If you can go [intercom] 8 and the voicemail answers, do * [your extension] # and the voicemail will ask for your password. Could be 7 instead of 8.

Try that or ask someone at your office, it is an easy one to do.
