We have a t1 configured for use as the toll circuits on a CTX 100. Just got it up and running.
Right now, we are only using it for outbound calls and it works great. Eventually, the customer's 800 numbers will be pointed at this circuit so that inbound long distance calls come in on these trunks as well.

In the meantime, we are having are problem with all of the lines indicating ringing for a second or two intermittently, but constanty. (Every 30-60 seconds one of the lines will indicate ringing)
We have the lines set for "No Ring" right now so it doesn't really bother but obviously we'll need to resolve the issue.

I have checked and rechecked the settings and conferred with the provider to no avail.

Does anyone out there have any suggestions of what might be causing this, and where we should look to see if the settings are right on our end?

Any and all suggestions very appreciated!!!

Does this terminate on a channel bank?

If so Make sure the unused channels are not active in the bank. If it is a carrier provided channel bank I would have them dispatch out to take a look at it.

This makes good sense. We are looking into the status of unused channels. We aren't currently using all of the channels on the T1 in the CTX.

Thanks!

You could hook up a serial printer to the SMDR and see what channels these are coming in on, etc. The SMDR could be a clue to what is happening.
