You'll need DKAdmin software, readily available most anywhere, and a Dongle or software key. The dongle is available from TSD/Toshiba or possible via E-bay, look to pay a few hundred bucks for it anyway. The DK280/424 will have to have an internal modem via their PIOU/PIOUS card. Max speed I believe is 1200 baud.....good luck!
Its better to go to site IMHO!

Although I never had the chance to do software programming for the pre-CTX systems, namely DK280 series, IMHO, I find it more reliable to use a DKT phone to do the programming.

Moreover, you'd have to get a dial-up modem to do this and maybe ask the customer to transfer you to extension #19 as well. I could be wrong on this one

Assuming this customer is not far from you, programming from a 20 button display is simple and probably best for you to get your feet wet.

You would do well to trust my judgement on this, but do as you please.

You don't know what software is in the 280 until you do a Program 00 from port 005, most often but not always extension 205.

You could have anything from very old 280 software to 4.3 424 software, it all comes from the four eproms. Any 280/424 manual will show you how to do Program 00. An old 280 manual will not have all the info for later software and a 4.3 424 manual will have features not found in the 280.

For all intents, a 424 RCTU cpu card can have old 280 chips and operate as a 280 and an old 280 cpu card can have the latest 424 software and operate as a 424.

Best advice is get any manual, see what software you have, find out what the customer wants and get back to us. No one will bite.

After you understand what you are doing with the system using a phone to program, you can see about remote programming.

They will have to have a PIOU, PIOUS, PIOU2, etc. to program through a laptop on site or remotely.

Write down what cards they have and let us know.
