Hello all.
I have worked on Toshiba equipment before (I worked for a dealer), but have not dealt with the Stratagy Flash VM before.
I have a customer who reported that the unit was not responding. I tried to re-boot with no success. When I put my butt-set on the ports, as soon as you plug the extensions into the Stratagy (the modular connections), the ports go off hook and never hang up. The ports all (2 of them) busy out and can not be accessed. When I use my butt-set on those ports they act fine. They hang up when my butt-set does. But again, as soon as they are plugged back into the Stratagy, BAM, they go off hook again.
Any suggestions (I do not have the admin software to access the VM).

I had the exact same thing happen 2 weeks ago. Had a Toshiba rep look at it and it is dead. (See my request for admin software in a previous post). Best of luck.

welp... really the only way to fix a flash is to unplug/plug it to cycle the power and clear the ports. its dead. I would go a step further and extract the files and flash the flash but thats something that ive forgotten how to do.

So do you think that a new flash card from Toshiba will fix the trouble? The problem is in the Flash Card then and not the Unit?
What do you mean by Flash the Flash?
Sorry for the questions, but as I said before, I have no experience with the Toshiba Stratagy.

Is the Flash card still readable? Say in a Flash card reader?

Pulling the power without first shutting the Stratagy program down is a no-no. You'll need the admin program to shut it down correctly before pulling the power.
I would go a step further and extract the files and flash the flash but thats something that ive forgotten how to do. If the flash rom has gone bad, chances are the files are corrupted. Copying corrupted files back onto a fresh flash rom will do you no good. Besides, if you're not a Toshiba technician you won't have the resources available to create a bootable flash rom drive.
Mike, your problem could be due to you simply running out of storage space. On older Stratagy flash versions if you are out of storage space, the Stratagy will act just like how yours acts right now and you won't be able to connect with the admin program (but there still is a way to free up space without using the admin program). I would suggest having a Toshiba tech look at it especially since you say you have no experience working on the Stratagy.
