I am not sure what the correct question is, so I will explain what I am doing. We currently have 10 lines used for incoming and outgoing calls. At times during the day we are not able to make outbound calls or receive inbound calls because all 10 lines are being used. We ordered a new phone line from the phone company and it is active. I jumped the line to CO10 on our board that runs in to a Strata DK280. I can call the number and I can see the red led on the board blinking but the phone system never answers. I am sure that I need to program something, but I do not know what needs to be programed. Any help is appreciated. If I need to post more information to answer this question, please let me know.
Thank you.

You say you already have 10 lines on your system, but you punched the new line down on position 10? That might be the problem right there!

My board starts at 0, so co10 is 11.

You will probably need to activate the new CO port in the software. Even if the physical connection is there, you have to activate it in the Trunk porgramming.
What resources do you have for programming the system? i.e Winadmin or emanger, or are you programming from a phone set?

OK, sounds to me like all you have to do is program the ringing on the phones you want to ring. It sounds to me that the CO Line is already programmed on the phones. That's prg 81.

Thanks for the reply Phil. I am reading through program 81 and I am not getting it. Is anyone available for a phone call? If so what is your rate?

Robby,
Toshiba programs by ports not extensions. You need to know in advanced what extensions you want to ring. Than go to program 04 enter the port number and note the extension number. Default on the 280 would be port 000=200, 001=201 and so on. This might have change on your system.
When you go into program 81, enter the port number 000 (usually the operators phone)after 000 is entered 10 LED lights should light up starting at the bottom left since you already have 10 lines. IF LED lights to not light up after port number is entered press the # key. NOTE: intercom button now represents co 1. The line button to the right of 1 is ll push to light it and press hold to enter.
Do this for the remainning extensions.

I am really a telephone newbie. I know enough to just get by.
I want our answering service to answer the incoming call, so the caller has the choice to dial an extension or enter a number to get to the correct department. Based on the last post, I am thinking that I would just need to ring port 000. Is that correct?

If you are talking about auto attendant answering the call you need to know what the first port voice mail is terminated to.
