Hello,
I recently upgraded my laptop to one that forces me to use a USB to Serial adapter. The port lists as COM2 so i should be good there. Has anyone gotten DKAdmin to function this way or do I need to revert to the old laptop for programming DK40's?
The screen that pops up tells me to check my cable, settings etc. I know they are good from my cheat sheet. 9600 7-1 even and matched in pgm 76-2..
All help gratefully accepted......

This topic came up before and I would suggest you do a search (top right of this page) for Gold-X or Gold X adapters.
If I remember correctly, that was the only brand that was a consistant winner. I did a Google/Froogle/Pricegrabber search and the price was about $20 or so.
You could also find the identical item for more than double the price at many sites, I was just the shopping maven.

Bunnie is correct - I did the same thing, and had to buy a GoldX GXMU-1201 (one foot length) to bridge between the laptop and the voice mail admin cable. Have not had any problems with it at all!

I will order one and give it a try, the one that I have currently is made by keyspan and has worked with no problems on radionics and ademco alarms (both tempermental) I dont feel so bad knowing that someone else has seen the problem also..
