It seemse I must have lost my trusty Stratagy cable and now I need one.... the question is can I buy a cable from Radio Shack that will work and if so what type of cable is it?

I use a null modem cable, which you can get at Radio shack or you can make one. I know the pin-outs are in the Stratagy I&M manual.

The last time I looked, Radio Shack no longer carried a null modem cable but did carry a null modem adapter. Unfortunately, it's a short coupler with male and female connectors so that not only do you need an extension cable but a female to female gender changer as well. Avoid the 25 pin version as you will need two 25 to 9 pin adapters each with the correct ends. Also, a laplink cable may look promising but has the wrong pinout. Amy's suggestion is a good one but double check all your connections. My first attempt failed. Finally you can order a null modem cable from Jameco.com cat. no. 181403CG for less than six bucks. S + H will raise that to more like 17 bucks but it sure beats what Toshiba wants. 66block
