An existing client that has 6 locations- 3 with Inter-Tel, 2 with toshiba and 1 other key system.
Our competition is Inter-Tel Direct, Cisco, Avaya, and NEC. We are an authorized Toshiba Dealer and resell refurb Inter-Tel.
Avaya is claiming that they can deliver 1 Gig on CAT6 wiring. Can Toshiba do this?

If you are talking about VOIP over gigabit on an internal LAN, I dont think they are doing that as of yet. The LAN ports would have to be "dumbed" down for the phones to work.

What kind of network connections do the client's six locations have? How fast are those connections? I ask this because have a 1 gig capability may be irrelevant.

Personally, I think it's irrelevant, since a voice call only takes 120K or less of bandwidth.

It seems to me that they are referring to the LAN capability of the equipment. If the phones have current generation ethernet adapters in them, then yes they can run at 1 gig over the network connection.
Gigabit Ethernet can run over existing cat 5 assuming the cable is sound. The LAN switches must support the data rate as well.
I agree, what does the 1 gig gain you?
