Picked up a new client w/ a Toshiba system. I'm only familiar with Nortel systems.
Here is the configuration of the cabs.
CABINET 1 :DKSUB280A
Slot R11 > RCTUBA RCTU > RCTUB4 S11 > PDKU2 S12 > PDKU2 S13 > RCOU1 S14 > RCOU1 S15 > RSTU2 S16 > PDKU2
CABINET 2 :DKSUE424A
Slot S_1 > PDKU2 S_2 > STRATAGY IVP8 S_3 > EMPTY S_4 > EMPTY S_5 > EMPTY S_6 > EMPTY S_7 > EMPTY S_8 > EMPTY
I believe there are currently 14 COs and 32 stations. They would like to expand to 30 COs and 60 stations.
What would I need to expand this system? Is there any programming involved? If so,do I need software?
Any help will be appreciated.

Are you planning on using a T1 card for the lines? You only have RCOUs listed are there RCOS cards attached to those RCOU cards. "Is there any programming involved?" You bet there is.

Yes there are RCOS cards attached.
Profile has been updated. We are in HI. Only one Toshiba dealer in the State.
Is this system worth expanding? There seems to be parts available, but the majority seems to be used.

Expansion would really depend on your needs in a telephone system. The Toshiba Strata DK is a still viable system in today's market place. It will expand up to seven cabinet with CPU upgrades. There is an abundant supply of good quality Toshiba parts available throughout the country. Programming can be done via a laptop/PC if you acquire a software dongle and the correct software, it may also be programmed via a telephone attached to a specific port on the system. While some will say that this is a cumbersome way of programming I find it take considerable knowledge to be able to program any telephone system and is best able to be done in this fashion first prior to attempting via a PC. If I remember correctly the DK280 with a BA/BB processor can utilize all 12 slots and be max config 48 co lines, and 80 digital stations. If you attempt to service this customer please take the time and effort to acquire the proper manuals and proceed carefully, please document your changes for as soon as a change is done there is no going back or wait until an update command is given.....it's live, real-time programming. Thanks and welcome to the board!
