I have installed WinAdmin Version 2.2A.12 on my new PC running Xp Pro w/ SP2 after much difficulty I was able to get the program to load. Now I have a connection issue. I'm able to connect with my laptop but not via my desktop. I have connected the laptop to the same network switch and was able to connect so I think the network is functioning ok. I have compared the setting to the laptop and all look the same. I receive an error " Failed to connect to CTX. Check the following items then try to connect again:
1. The Connection parameyers you provide on the form.
2. Network Connection for LAN access.
3. Modem Connection for dial-up access.
4. CTX functions
5. Application settings for authenication.

Error Detail: Undefined Error - -2147217389

If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate any help they could offer.

Make sure that your internal firewall is turned off, as well as the script blocker. Also make sure you are not using IE7. Double check the IP address for your computer.

Phil,

Thanks for the info, I have verified that I'm not running Pop-Up Blocker or Firewall, however I'am running IE7 on both pc's. I have comapred all the settings in IE7 to confirm that they are identical. Seems to me that if it will connect on one pc with IE7 then it should on the other, do you agree. I have check the network settings and they are identical with the exception of the ip address "192.168.1.107 and 192.168.1.7" .7 working and .107 not working. If you feel strongly enough removing IE7 would fix my problem I will try it.

Ditto what Phil said
Remove IE7, Toshiba came out with a notice about IE 7 not working with eManager. Toshiba was not the only manufacture to send out notice about IE 7 not working with their software.

Just go to your control panel, remove programs, highlight IE7, and uninstall it.

I have not had any luck getting WinAdmin to connect with the CTX on my desktop, I tried installing WinAdmin on another pc that was running xp-sp2 and IE 7. WinAdmin installed without problems and it runs and connects to the CTX fine. This sure is a brain teaser.

Just FYI e-manager will not work if there is a Google or Yahoo toolbar installed on the pc you are trying to use to connect to a Toshiba Phone System and you must be on the same subnet or it won't work. Also winadminwill not work on the newer processors only the earily 3 series. Try this out and let me know if it helps

Pop-up blockers will prevent emanager and Winadmin from working.
For Google, enter localhost in URL and tell google to not block popups from this host. Should be simular with other blockers.
