I have a Toshiba Strat DK14,40i,424
Not exactly sure which.

I have primarly RSTU3 analog cards.

I have a users who when they get a message it turns their message waiting light on, plus gives them an audible tone once in a while. It only seems to do it when she has a message. Is this an option in the system? If so which programming option is it? This is an analog ext. Other analog user phones don't do this.

Notification to her extension is on. She most likely turned it on herself in her mailbox. Log back into her mailbox and turn it off.

On an analog phone, as far as I know, there is only the MWL. There is an audible indication, too, if the systems programming has enabled stutter dial tone for the message waiting indicator on an analog phone. She has to go off hook to hear it, though.

#1 If, by chance, you have an RSTU1, the message lamp will not light.

#2 Try Program 35, LED 4, turn on for ports that do not want audible message waiting. I think the light might still work.

I don't have one here or I'd try it.

Shucks, I didn't read the thread carefully enough. Are you referring to the stutter tone as Phil suggested from the handset when you pick up the phone?

I think the audible tone is on the Single Line phone because only the Strata CTX onwards have the stutter tone. But you'd have to pick up the handset to hear it.

It's not a studder tone. Her phone physically rings once when her message waiting light is on. I'd say every 5 minutes. (Just a rough guess).

My digital phone also does it when my message light is on. I believe the call comes from the voicemail. Perhaps it is a voicemail option and not a phone system option.

Are all your analog cards RSTU3's?
Back at the system do you hear a "clacking" sound coming from the analog cards?
Check your program 35 LED 3 is it on or off?
What type of Analog phones are you using?

I don't know the voicemail system at all but will take a stab,
I'm thinking that the voicemail is timed to go off-hook and dial the extension number, such as an outdail sequence for alternate notification.
Had this setup in an old AVT one time.
