I have a customer with a DK14. He wants to add caller ID. I have previously added Caller ID on to the 424 without an issue, the DK 14 manual states “The TC-1041 (MLX-41) is available from TEL-CONTROL, Inc.,”. I cannot find this animal anywhere. Is there a replacement or updated part to add caller id to this system?
Peace,
Dave

I would look at replacing the 14 with a CTX 28 or CIX 40, probably not much difference in cost, caller id comes with the system and you can use the same phones

Thanks for the info guys. Is the CTX 28 programming similar to the CTX 100?
Peace,
Dave

I agree with breed on this one. I had the same issue. Sold a used DK14 to a customer nothing said about CID until 3 months later. But no chance finding a MLX41 these days. I put a CO line at the dwsk and hooked up a CID box because he wanted to store the CID also and the DK14 wont do that either.

2 CID boxes is the solution the customer in question went with also. Their question was “Why spend cash on a new box if all we want is caller id?”, so I fired up the soldering iron, changed out some old hook switches and will slide back in next week to install the CID boxes.
Life is good. Thanks for all of your help.
Peace,
Dave
