Hello all, I'm taking over phone operations in my company and we're using a CIX/CTX but not sure which model. This is the version info from emanager login:
eManager Version 4.20A06 CIX / CTX Version AR4.10 MN023.00
anyway, I'm setting up two line's on a phone for our sales people and cannot get the proper system call forwarding to take when these lines are in a hunt group. Basically, what I want is if they are on the phone on both lines or away from the phone, I want external calls to go to VM. But right now, if they are on the phone, I get a busy signal when calling from an external number. Internal calls can get a busy if they're on the phone. I have no problem setting this option when I just set up a PDN and then a phantom, but when I put them in a Hunt Group, I can't get the sys call forward functionality I want.
Thanks,
Justin

How many incoming lines are in your telco hunt group?

Are these two incoming lines regular analog lines or are they DID's coming in over a T1? If they are analog lines, when they are both busy, the caller will always get a busy because there is no where for the call to go. Otherwise when setting up your hunt group, make sure and put the correct system call forward and VMID in the hunt group programming.

Basically, what I've done is setup a PDN on a button, and then a phantom DN on the button above it. I've added both PDN and phantom DN to a hunt group. But I can't get our standard call forwarding to work. I want it to ring to voicemail when on line instead of getting busy signal.

The standard call forwarding feature (call forwarding variable) will not work with lines that are also assigned to a hunt group. It sounds like you want your inbound calls (to any busy lines) to divert to each line's associated mailbox. If this is true, why do you also want these same lines assigned to a hunt group? Inbound calls to a busy line can either hunt for another available line within a specific group, or they can be diverted to another line (or mailbox) via CFBL (line busy) and/or CFDA (no answer). In the 5ESS, neither the call forwarding variable feature or the CFBL diversion feature can be assigned to any line that is also assigned a hunt group. I hope this can help some.
