Customer currently has a DK280 w/ Expansion Cabinet
5 PDKU2's 2 RCOU1 CO LINE CARDS 1 RCOS1 CO PIGGYBACK CARD 1 IPV8 Flash 4 Port Voicemail
I would like to know what is useable. I hear the base cabinets and expansion cabinet are. Not sure on the other things.
Please advise.
Is there any advantage to buying new cabinets other than having new hardware?
Thanks Greg

Correct. The Cabinets on the CIX 100 or very different. With base and expansion cabinet, you get 8 slots, which is exacly what you need for all those card. Obviously you would need a CIX 100 Processor too. Those should all be compatable.
Also, since you won't have any slots open (CIX 100 is maxed 8 slots) if you need more phones, you would add more extensions by replacing a PDKU with a new BWDKU. This card alows for 16 phones, while the PDKU only had 8 phones.
You also need to add more licences to the system. It comes out of the box with 32 ports. You need 56 based on those cards.

If I am reading this post correctly the only thing you will be able to reuse going from a DK-280 to a CIX 100 would be the cards, you can upgrade a DK-424i to a CIX 670 and reuse the cabinets, but not the 280 cabinets unless Toshiba has changed something.

You are correct! You cannot re-use the cabinets if it is a DK280 and if they are going to a CIX 100 the only thing they can use are the PDKU's, the RCOU and RCOS1A and the VM card. They would need a new cabinets and processor.

I cabinets can not be used. The cards can installed but I would recommend swapping the pdku for bdku or bwdku cards. You will also need an authorized dealer to sell you the cabinets with the appropriate licenses. You'll need the admin software too! So... get a real tech to do it.

Thanks to all that have posted. The expansion cabinet is actually a 424Cabinet (DKSUE424A) the other cabinet is a 280A.

Meisgq --
If you dont have any nice to say dont say anything at all. I have the software for it and have actually programmed a couple CIX/CTX systems. If I had to find a real tech rest assured he or she would not be as arrogant as yourself.

I don't think meisgq was trying to be put you down. Sounds like he was trying to make sure that you get handled correctly by having a certified Toshiba tech do the job.
