Customer asked if there was a way to have the dss button for a certain extension stay lite up if i put a call oh hold. I told him that the phone system sees the phone as being idle once you put a call on hold and drop the handset. This question has never been asked to me before and was wondering if there is a program to make my dss stay lite up on the console after i put a call on hold. Personally the only way i see getting around this is to either put the call on hold but dont drop the handset leaving you phone on intercom or put the caller on speaker phone and hit the mute button.

Mute was my first thought, but you would still hear them and they would not be enjoying the MUZAK version of Muskrat Love.
Just hit hold and don't hang up.
