I have a system that I am trying to change the names on the telephones. Here is the info that I know:
On the main Box I see the following (I guess there are two boxes together because there are two model numbers, I really don't know too much about our system since it was here before me): Toshiba Model: CHSUB672A Strata v.1b
Toshiba Model: CHSUE672A Strata v.1b
The phones are: Teleco Digital Key Telephone Model UST-1010DSD
I follow the instructions in the DKT 2000-Series User manual and I cannot do anything.
I go to station 200 and do the following: Intercom #621 page <ext#> page
but I never see the userbox. As soon as I hit the #621, the LCD shows 'DATA PROGRAMMED'.
Any ideas what I need to do? Let me know if I need to get some more info. I don't do much with the phones since I am the computer guy here, but I would like to be able to change the names on the phones.
Thanks. Scott

First, go back and dial #620 to undo the #621 that you did. It looks as though you have a CTX/CIX and not a DK. On the DK model, #621 is the feature code to change the display name on the phones. On the CTX/CIX, #621 disables system call forward. If you have Winadmin/Emanager, use that to change the names. You might be able to change the names via a DKT set depending on your software level and are given that ability in programming. If you are at a complete loss as to what I'm talking about, you may want to have a vendor do it for you and maybe have them set it up to where you can do it yourself.

I am assuming that you are talking about the laptop software that they have when they come here. If so then I don't guess we have that. I can log onto the Perfect Voice on the old DOS machine and do things there, but that is about it. Is that software supposed to come with the system when you purchase it? If so then I may have to find out what happened to ours when they got this system. The company that we switched to last year has not been able to take care of a couple of problems. One of them being able to change the LCD name on one of the phones. This is when I decided that I would do it myself and found our DKT 2000 Series User Guide and found the info that I thought that I needed. Thanks again. Scott

I'm not sure if eManager is included in a system purchase. It is likely up to the installing dealer. The software is what the techs use to program the system and is available to only Toshiba dealers.
Our dealership will offer it to our customers that wish to make changes on their own. We usually come out and install it and put the CTX on their network, change IP address, and provide some training.
Sometimes it is included in the price of a new system, and sometime we change an hourly rate to insall.
As far as name changes, the only way without the software would be if your Software level is current enough (ver 2.22, within about 2 years ago I think), and if Admin was enable in programming for an extension, which is almost always not the case.
