We just recently got ourselves set up here with the Toshiba unified messaging system, and I have a question about the Outlook Stratagy ES plugin.
The installer file says it's for Outlook 2003. I tried installing it on 2007 anyways, just to test, and it appears that Outlook has become very unstable and crashes frequently. Does anyone know for sure if this is supposed to be compatible or not? And if not, is there a supported, newer plugin attainable through Toshiba for Outlook 2007?
Thanks, -Coleman

Coleman, our installs now do not involve the Outlook plugin which uses the Stratagy proprietary integration between the email server and the Stratagy. This is because the computer industry is constantly fixing or improving its security that it disables or interferes with the Stratagy plugin. Instead, we only use the POP3 or IP standard where the voice message is sent like a standard email message but with a .wav attachment. Without the Stratagy plugin you won't have the Stratagy plugin's play bar or be able to record a message with your pc, and you won't have the Stratagy phonebook. That's not really a problem because you can play back the message using your default Windows player like Windows Media Player, Itunes player, Winamp, etc. As for the recording feature of the plugin, most users don't have a microphone on their pc and even if they do, they aren't going to record a message that way. They'll use the phone for that. And the Stratagy phonebook can be replaced with the Outlook's address book which usually has more contacts in it anyway. Give it a try on one mailbox and see how you like it.

We still use it, and still have issues. We have an account with 50+ PCs with UM. The IT says they have many issues. The pluggin gets disable by outlook for some reason. Also have to reinstall the outlook forms.
Only good thing is that the messages are marked as read when they listen to the emails. Delete on send may work in some cases, unless you have ver 4.617 without the hotfix.
