Error message: "Failed to connect to CIX/CTX: Undefined error 2147217389"
Fixes tried and items checked: 1) removing and reinstalling the software 2) checking pop-up blocker status 3) making sure google and yahoo toolbars have not been installed 4) checked network connectivity (ping CTX ok) 5) IE version 6 6) management and monitoring tools are installed ok | | | | Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 1,314 Member | Member Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 1,314 | Make sure that you have the correct community name. Also make sure you are on the same subnet. Try connecting directly to the CTX/CIX with a cross-over cable. If there is an AMDS installed, you can always try that way too. | | | | Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 728 Member | Member Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 728 | you may want to install the management and monitoring tooks again. had someone else on another board have this same exact problem... the only difference was that he had not installed them from the get go...
IIS is installed as well? | | | | Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 627 Member | Member Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 627 | I have a machine that has the same error, I get the failed to connect error immediately after i click connect. This machine is on a domain, I was wondering if that had anything to do with it. My laptop is on the same domain, but i do have a local admin login, and i installed e-manager under that account. | | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 2,580 Member | Member Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 2,580 | Also, if you have a Stratagy ES, or IES voicemail connected with a network cable, the admin on the CTX can lock up at times. Softkeys also stop working.
Cycle power on the CTX.
MJ_Wald, since you said that you get the error immediately, that is probably not your issue. Double check IP address settings and try to Ping the CTX from your PC.
I have heard of probles installing emanager on a PC in a domain sometimes, but if you got to the point of connecting, I would not think that is the issue. Usually something goes wrong trying to install, or open emanager. | | | | Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 627 Member | Member Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 627 | newtecky, I can run winadmin with out any trouble. Thats what gets me. I know my network settings are good. | | | | Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 2,017 Moderator-Toshiba, Request an Installer | Moderator-Toshiba, Request an Installer Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 2,017 | Check the software level in the CIX. I had similar issue, called Toshiba, they said upgrade the software in the switch. There was a bug in R4 that affected connection to emanager....updated switch; problem gone.
