I am in sales and working with a 20 button ekt-6520-sd phone. To pick up calls we have to press the p/u button (which is programed to be #5#) then 7-0-0 and then the number of whatever line you want to pick up.

If someone could tell me how to program one button to punch in #5#700 so that then i could just type in which line it is after hitting one button instead of 6 that would be awesome. I work for a car dealership and constantly get "up" calls and its whoever has the fastest fingers basically who gets the calls :bang: . Thanks for the help in advance!

You have to make sure that your phone has a speed dial and redial keys programmed on it. Otherwise those feature will show up under the * and # keys. Then you should be able to program a key with the correct feature codes.

1) Do not lift the handset.
2) Press the # or RDL key, press the * or SPD key
3) Press the button you wish to program the number to.
4) Dial the telephone number to be stored (20 digits maximum), in your case #5#700
5) Press the # or RDL button to record the number in memory.

ahhh! i had it and then I went to program another one and somehow i screwed it up and its gone again. . . i dont know what I did. . . <sigh>

ok i figured out why it went away, the key i was trying to program was the redial key. . . so the programming didn't work . . can you help me reprogram the pick up key? the #, * thing doesn't work

As Voyager said " make sure in Prog. 39 that the key is programmed as a speed dial (auto dial) button. Then you will be able to program the key with the #5#700 as you stated.

If the Redial and SPD* keys are not programmed on a flexible button, they are located on the # (Redial) and * (Speed dial) keys. It is better to have a Redial and Speed Dial button on flexible keys, that way the # and * are actually # and *. I know it sounds confusing, but it is really not. Hope that helps!

Yep, the EKT phones are notorious for the "#" problem. You must assign a separate Redial and Speed Dial keys on your flexible button. Once you have done up the #5#700, then you can remove the Redial and Speed Dial function, which by then the EKT would automatically re-assign the "*" and "#" as those two function.

Heck, I hope you can understand this as I am a bit confused. Trust me, it will all be clear when you do the programming.
