Hey everyone -
I had to re-initialize a DK280,
and when it came back up I noticed that when
I access dial tone it only comes over the speaker. No-matter if I'm already off-hook and depress any button - the speaker activates.
This is on every phone. Is it a class of service feature disabled/enabled?
Can you give me a hand.

Thanks Jeff.

How many phones do you have, are they DKT20XX series, and was this system functioning before you initialized? I ask because a bad hookswitch will cause this. If it is only a few phones, and you bought them off of E-Bay or something similar, it might be a hookswitch issue. If the phones were all functioning fine right up until you initialized, then you have something else going on.

Is it all phones or just that one? Easy way to tell is to intercom another extension and talk for a few minutes. If you get cut off, then its most probably the hook switch. Another symptom would be the phone gets the CO line by itself.

Or try programs 10-1, Program 30 and Program 31

Yeah - it is all phones. I only have about 6 working at the moment. The phones were fine before I initialized the system. I didn't realize that the result would be what I found.
I'm going out there tomorrow 12/04.
Thanks - paul144 & MrEngineer.
I do know about the hookswitch issues with Toshiba. I will also look at the system assignments & Class of service(s).

Thanks again...

When you initialize make sure that there is a PDKU in the first slot or if you have an RSIU in slot one make sure that slot two has a PDKU. When initalizing you should only run program 91-9. Do not run program 90 or 92. 91-9 will automatically take care of those steps. The only other thing that you make sure that you do is if you have a release 3 or higher proccessor you must run RAM check. Program 00-51 and 00-61 . These programs should each be run two or three times or else your system will do some very strange things over time.

I ordered acouple of phones - because I can't be sure the phones were working (new account).
As soon as they come in I'll go out & update you all with the result.

Very much appreciate your input(s)...
Anything you all need PM me (Soft.for many Sys.)

Thanks again - Jeff
