The reason im asking is because i need to moved about 24 extensions(DKT) to another floor in our building but the new floor only got a fiber run for network connectivity so I won't be able to move them as DKT's so I'll have to assign IP phones to them instead. I'm just wondering so i dont have to delete and re-create the extension for every person that doesnt have an IP phone already. thanks for any help.

I believe you have to delete and re-create them as IPT's.

Yeah, I don't think you can change the circuit number between different phone types.

Yup... delete recreate.

If they were all DKT's, it would be easy as type in the new CKT# and hit submit.

----

Out of curiosity...

1. New fiber was ran, but no copper at all?

2. Is it close enough to run a 50/100 pair feed?

----

Just wondering, because purchasing 24 new IPT's and LIPU, etc... I would think if it's close enough, running a copper feeder would be cheaper and better for future expansion.

Just my thought, since I don't know all the circumstances.

.

Thank you... that's my laugh for the day!

P.S. - I'm 28... maybe I should just run "willy-nilly" into those type of projects!

it was management decision, the extra floor space is a temp solution until we move building in the middle of the year. also timing was an issue, it needed to be done quick, and running a 50/100 and patching it on both ends will was too time consuming for the cable runner. smile
