I have a CIX100 R5.10MS018 in my house and am trying to get an IP Softphone working on my sisters PC in Vermont. She has a Netgear Router Model RP614v3 on Verizon DSL. Does anyone know what the settings are for VoIP traffic in that monster?
I set my brother up in New Mexico and its fine.
I was at a customer about 2 years ago and all we did was change the SPI setting and it worked. Not so this time.

Maybe Verizon blocks IP traffic where she is? Is she able to operate Skype, or any similar VoIP? If not, has she tried a different router?

Usually when we have had a customer with a Netgear, we turn off SPI firewall. Recently we had a customer that could not connect.
Another tech spent some time on it and found that the newer Netgear firewalls have SPI but can not be turned off. This is the problem Toshiba has been having with Linksys firewalls. I don't think we were able to get him connected.
I hope this trend does not continue. DLink has still worked for us.

If the Netgear is the newest model, SPI cannot be fully turned off. The same is the case for the Linksys WRT54G. The difference being, you can load open-source firmware on the Linksys which allow it to work. I used DD-WRT on my WRT54G Linksys router at home. https://www.dd-wrt.com/
