It sounds to me like its the hard drive going. You have the extended warranty so get that transfered to another dealer, preferably one a little closer to you. Get a back-up of the vm as soon as you can. As newtecky said, you may not have long before it totally crashes. Then get it replaced. Hopefully the dealer you choose has one on his shelf and can replace it quickly. While you are at it, get the modem installed on the processor so that both the vm and the CIX can be remotely serviced.

The extended warranty should cover the cost of the equipment however it does not cover the labor cost to replace the unit. I would make sure I have a good backup. Since you vendor is no longer a Authorized Dealer he is unable to help you. You can call Toshiba and give them the name of your company and number on the warranty tag they should try to find someone that will cover this as it is a Toshiba warranty that you bought and paid for. If you are not the orginal purchaser of the equipment you are out of luck, the warranty is not transferable! If you would like I will contact Toshiba for you if you PM the information to me.
