I installed a DK16 with 12 DKT2020-SD's seven years ago in my home and became pretty good at programming everything. I got a CTX28 from a business partner and have been able to swap the units and everything is working. However, the programming seems to be much more complex. It does not have a GETS1A so I am trying to program everything via the handset with a June 2004 programming manual. The manual refers to the CTX100 and CTX607 which complicates the programming. I'm mostly interested in getting the FB's to program properly. Does eManager (or WinAdmin) make things much easier? If so, where can I buy a GETS1A and eManager license? I also would like to get some consulting help if I run into a snag. Are there dealers I can find on the web for phone support?
One other question. If I hook up a regular cordless phone to the analog (STU) port, will it properly send Caller ID to the analog/cordless phone?
Thanks in advance
Thanks,
Tim

to the Board, Tim. You have quite a job ahead of you trying to program the system thru the phone. The instructors at Toshiba school tell students up front not to try. Find a GETS card and a copy of WinAdmin. That will make things 100% easier. PM Sent.

First CTX28 system I installed did not have a GETS card. I managed to program most of the system using a 10 button phone. Problem was that I needed a 20 button to completely program it. It was a learning experience.
Since we did not sell them a GETS, I went back and put one in to program, then remove it when I was done. I later found out that I could have dialed into the system using it's analog port and a laptop modem.

Welcome TimB, If you have a manual, you should be able to program anything you need to. I have done everything from reassigning IP address' to backing up the system... it doesn't mean it's an easy process or fun, but knowledge worth having never is! newtecky has a point. If you have the admin software, you can off-hook with the laptop MoDem (while connected to the analog port) and call the Built in Modem of the system. Either way, good luck and let us know.

If you rarely need to program it, just dial in via the analog port - #19 will get you the internal modem.
As for CallerID, unfortunately the built-in analog port does not support CallerID...

Thanks for the help. I have a friend with a GETS card that I'm going to use to do the major programming. I was able to get pretty far with just the DTK2020 and have it running, but it is a pain.
Thanks,
Tim
