I was trying to save some $$ by moving our Phone system myself from one Building to another, I have pluged in all my CO lines and I get a dial tone on the phones sets, But my users no longer dial 9 for an outside line, They have to hit the next open line on the phone itself, What did I do wrong this time?? any help would be great.

First, are you referring to a DK40 system?
Did you used to have Centrax and now do not?
Did you hit the intercom button, then dial 9?
Was the battery strap in the ON or OFF position?
Some more details about how it used to operate and how you would like it to and we should be able to help you out.
Thanks, Tony

Tony thank you for your help, Yes I am using a dk 40 system, I went from 5 co lines down to 3 co lines and the system is connecting to line 4 when I hit the intercom button, I don't think I have a line 4 anymore. when I dial a number I do not connect. I have to hit line 1 thru 3 and then I can dial the number without hitting 9 first, What did I do? What is centrax? I dont think I had that I hooked the system up the same way Just without the 4th or 5th co line. In the old building I had to hit 9 for an outside line know I have to select the line and dial direct.

If you went from 5 to 3, the system is still looking for the last two lines. Remember, the system works from High number to low number in the trunk sequence. You will have to remove the last two trunks in programming. that should make it work. Good luck

Texas is correct, you have just removed the dialtone/line, from the first CO interface that the system is selecting.
I'll send you a PM on the correct program to use.

I pulled the last two C/O lines from the 66 block and from the system itself, I have restarted the system and it is still going to the 5th line which is no longer connected to the system, I am racking my brain and can’t see what I am doing wrong.

Tony and Texas,
Thank you both for your help on this, I do not have a programming manual for this system since the service tech never gave it to me 4 yrs ago, Can I move the co lines into positions 5,4,3 eliminating 1 and 2 ?

That would be one way of doing it. Otherwise you'll need a service call - programming manuals are not distributed to customers typically unless they go to the Toshiba training school.

The system is set up for 5 lines and when you dial a 9, it will select the first available line starting with the last one which in this case is line 5. What you need to do is delete lines 4 and 5 from the system programming. I suppose you could get away with plugging the lines that you do have into the 3,4, and 5 spots but at some point somebody is going to dial a 9 and get line 2 when the last 3 are busy.
