More info on the exact phone setup would help too.

What kind of service... POTS/VoIP/Channel bank?

Can you have them provide CID info, so you can narrow it down to a single line?

Then put that line on a SLT for a day and see if the problem follows it.

That's all I can think of for right now.

The telephone lines are four copper trunks, 1 line is DSL.Most calls are coming from line 1 and line 3. This started after the processor was replaced because of a failure. Card was initialized twice. Only happens during the day when people are using system????911 are saying that they hear a silent followed by a short burst of sound and then it hangs up.Customer is not complaining of any other problem with making or receiving calls.

I think I see what Tshiba Bob is saying, you may want to check your anaolg ports and SLT devices to see if something is auto-dialing 911.

Maybe a fax has a speed-dial set as 9, 11(XXX)NNN-XXX, where someone entered it incorrectly by adding another 1, where it didn't need to be.

Other than that, hook up line 3 to a SLT and have them answer/make calls on that for the first half of the day, then after lunch evaluate what's happened and hook up line 1 to a SLT for the rest of the day, then go back at the end of the day and evaluate if/when the 911 calls still happened.

I am also working on this and there are no SLT devices other than the Stratagy DK in the phone system. Me and another tech have checked and there is no notificaiton in any mailbox other than the MSG lights on/off programmed in the VM. Telco indicates the "burst" that is heard almost sounds like a fax or modem sound. The fax is dedicated and not part of the system.

any otehr ideas?

Only what I said before... put the lines directly to a SLT device one at a time and see if it happens while they aren't going through the system.

That and an exorcism smile

Install a piou if there is not one already and hook up a laptop running hyperterminal. That will capture the raw data which will show where the 911 calls are coming from.
