I have a DK424, Processor RCTUE-D, Rom ver. 9M, Soft. R4.3. Is it possible to manipulate the outgoing caller id number that is being sent on a station by station basis. We assign DID numbers to tenants in the building and they would like their outgoing caller id number to show their DID number instead of the main btn for the T1 circuit. I know this is possible on some systems, Inter-tel, NEC, Nortel and I'm sure others that I'm not familiar with, thanks in advance for the time.

Thanks for the response phonemeister, where in programming do you setup the outgoing caller id numbers? Also what limitations are there?

It must be a PRI circuit. Check your programming manual for CNIS in ISDN section for program numbers.

Typically the only numbers the carrier will allow you to send out are numbers that reside on the PRI itself. You couldn't just arbitrarily put any number in. *68-1, *68-2 and *69-1 relate to this programming.

I've seen some providers allow 800 service numbers sent as the caller ID with no issues. Food for thought.

If your users have DID numbers than you should have some type of PRI circuit. And the Did numbers do reside on the PRI,so you should have no problem sending out that translation to the caller side.On a station to station basis you may have to manipulate station programming as well.

Thanks to everyone that took the time to respond to my post. It appears that the only way to make this work is thru a PRI circuit and we are using T1. So I guess we either upgrade to a PRI or forget about sending individual DID numbers outgoing for the caller id.

If you have a t-1 with local DID's, I'm guessing you have a Supertrunk T1 which is virtually the same as a PRI but slightly limited and more $$! Make the move to PRI...
