Firstly, I am using:
eManager Version 4.20A06 CIX / CTX Version AR3.10 MK043.00 and Stratagy Voicemail system.
I'm not well trained in this kind of thing I just kind of done the learn as I go thing. So forgive me if this is a basic question.
I am trying to create an extension that can be dialed via a DID number that will simply be a voicemail box. We have a consulant working for us, but she needs to have a company voicemail box for our customers to contact her at. Right now I have an extension set up with no phone attached to it. If I dial the extension from the inside it says the extension is busy and gives the option to leave a voicemail, but if i dial the DID I get the busy message, but then it kicks me out to the attendant and I get a message "Please wait while I try that extension" then I get a busy message, again kicked out and so on and I am stuck in this loop.
I figure there has to be a better way to do this, hopefully I can do it so that if someone dials the extension or the DID it just goes right to voicemail. Anyone able to provide some insight into this?

Create a pilot DN with alternate dialing digits to the vm hunt group number and set the vm id code for whatever mailbox you choose.

PLus turn Do Not Disturb on in the voicemail so it doesn't try to dial the extension from the Auto Attendant, although the pilot will probably take care of that too, you would be elimiating the "Please hold..." message. Definately a pilot would be usefull here.
From the DID you could also have it go directly to the voicemail with the VMID of the mailbox. All calls would go direclty to that mailbox (even without a pilot DN).

Is the DID coming down the T1 or is it a analog CO line? Either one what is the dialing digits in programming, how do you have it setup to ring the ext or go right to VM.

Thanks everyone. I used a pilot DN pointing to the voicemail with vmid of the mailbox. I also did the same with the DID and turn the DND on and seems to have made it all work exactly how I needed it to.
