all:

currently on our switch when dialing someone and their phone is ringing, you can press 2 to intercom their phone and begin talking... i have a user that would like for me to remove that feature... you know - a little privacy... can this be disabled? we have a Strata CIX/CTX.

Under the DKT tab you can disable the mic on the initial call. That way they can talk, but can't hear unless they pick up the handset or press the mic button.
I think there is an option under COS possibly or perhaps something else under the DKT tab.

Disable handsfree override in COS.

Ok - so i've changed it so that it rings first, but the person can press 2 and begin talking.

can i not just remove this feature from the phone? the users don't like that someone can press a button and begin talking...

any help would be appreciated..

In COS like phonemeister said.

Program 103(Class of Service) FK20 is Handsfree Override option. I would setup a new COS with this option disabled and then assign the extension to that class. Otherwise you will affect all phones in the existing class.
