G.711 20ms (64 Kbps)
Bandwidth w/cRTP MP or FRF.12 (Kbps)
67.6 Kbps
Bandwidth Ethernet (Kbps)
87.2 Kbps

Right off the Cisco website.

I don't remember anything in my Cisco and VOIP saying anything about 190k for a conversation. I am not meaning to say you are wrong either.

Meisgq: You are counting the send and recieve side as one and not counting the fact that it's synchronous communication. By that logic a T1 is 3.088-mbps (1.544 for TX and RX).

The RTP Side (depending on vendor) will be 80-90K. The SIP Side will be minimal traffic. We are talking 1-2K IF that for SIP signaling. And yes, i've actually ran network monitoring tools to see what was going on with the system.

The General Description manual also states about 88 kpbs at 20ms interval plus about 3 kpbs per phone for the keep alive signal for g11. And about 20 kbps for g729 at 40 ms interval.
