I have a customer who has maxed out the number of DSS consoles (5), and now they need more. I believe they have a few IP phones on their system and I saw the IP-based IDM5060 DSS console which works in conjunction with a IP5000.

If I add an IP DSS console does the system see it as another IP phone or as another DSS console?

If it sees it an another DSS console, is there any feasible way to have 10 DSS consoles? I know I can add (2) attendant consoles, but what about IP soft phones with DSS?

The total is 5 per system. IDM5060 consoles count towards that as well.

You may want to check out Toshiba's netphone/server for additional DSS buttons.

Good call on the netphones. My customers absolutely love the netphone. Combine it with a wireless headset and its even better.

Are the netphones the same as the IP softphones? Where can I find more info about it? My customer needs several additional DSS keys (40+).

No they are not the same although the netphone can run as a stand alone IP softphone. Typically they are set up and work in conjunction with the DKT desk phone. Look for it on FYI or if you arent a dealer, contact your Toshiba rep for info.
