So when alarms go off in the building, someone has to dial in, enter a code, and pre-recorded message will play overhead, saying emergency exists etc. My problem is that this sounds really faint. Is there any way to turn it up in the system? Thanks... If you need more info, please let me know.

Does the recording reside in the Toshiba or an external device, such as a Valcom or Viking unit, with a thumb-drive or flash card of some sort?

It could be recorded in the Stratagy voicemail system and programmed to play when you enter a special extension number.

Is your overhead paging normally sound OK but this emergency messages sound too low? If both are too low you can try to locate the paging amp and increase the volume. If its a Valcom paging system then it may not have an Amp, but just a power supply for the speakers.

If these message are recorded in a voicemail box then you may be able to login to these boxes and increase the playback volume. Or you can re-record them louder. If the Stratagy is the source of the recording, then this is a customized setup, and there is no way to know which boxes you need to access without looking at the programming setup. It is probably the VM boxes you dial to play the messages.

It may be possible to adjust the outgoing volume by adjusting the programming, but that would be for a Toshiba tech to do.

We had a scenario last summer that the emergency messages came from a fire alarm/security box. We put an audio lead from the unit and interfaced it to a 100 wat Grommes-Precision Amp. The volume was very, very low. We called Grommes-Precision and ended up installing a "15W micro-mixer pre amp". That did the trick.

It was not an inexpensive piece of equipment--but it certainly was no fuss/no muss, and worked perfectly. Because this was an order by the local fire department, the cost was well worth it.

I don't know if this is what you need---but this may point you in the right direction.

Yes, they are recorded in the voicemail system and programed to play when a code is entered. I was able to access the mailbox through Strategy ES and turn the volume up on there, but I will have to wait for an emergency to test it out (i think I've tried this before with no success). Overhead paging does sound OK, but when this message plays the alarms are usually going off, making it even harded to hear it.
