I wanted to build upon this post Since I'm working with OP on this situation.

The LIPU update page on network eManager always gives a page cannot be displayed so the only way for us to update is with the old eManager version 5.10A14. It went through the normal update process but on the card it did the upload, delete, flash reset and got stuck on the reset part and locked up eManager.

I'm in the LIPU-X card now via serial to 6pin adapter on a telnet session and when I do a "dir" there are 0 files created. remain 64 files message. I don't know if I can upload the firmware or bootloader via console because I cannot specify an IP on the NIC since you get a disabled by fault CR.

My Toshiba vendor cannot be here until tomorrow and obviously I do not have the access to call toshiba techs. version cmd in telnet brings up BiosVer.D(D-01)

I'm just trying to unbrick the card.

did you forget to unzip the firmware, one time i did this and had to send Lipu in to have toshiba reload the image...

easy mistake to make, you 'must not' unzip ipt firmware, but you 'must' unzip lipu firmware..

I'm not sure what initially caused the bad flash but another member here sent my co-worker a few page PDF that walked you through the steps to sent your NIC to 192.168.0.70 and connect to the LIPU/BIPU via crossover and also connect to it via telnet and rename the LIPU firmware file to vmlinuz (for LIPU only) and initiate a TFTP transfer from the telnet session.

Thanks for being a great community.

Now off to try and get this iES32 with 4GB flash up and running since you can't ping it or get it to announce but is not showing any faults in eManager and looks good.

Thank you. The info I mentioned above fixed the problem using telnet/tftp to reload the image. I just didn't want to put everything in detail in the post because I know some places don't want people going out there and messing with their equipment and potentially ruining it.

I know this an extremely old post, but was hoping that someone had the instructions on how to re-image/upload firmware to an LIPU? I was updating a CTX100 today and of course had to do the LIPU and it got stuck. Now all it has is 3 lights on it. When I connect via serial port, it says vmlinuz not found and goes to a prompt. I obviously have the firmware, but need to know step-by-step how to load thru the serial port. Any help would greatly appreciated!

It looks like the Linux boot is corrupted. I always have done firmware though the IP, but there was a part that required a serial connection. I'll send PM, but if the OS is corrupted it's probably easier to find a new on online.
